Manic Maze & Manic Maze Mobile - 5 Years on

Date: February 9th 2012 - Manic Maze v1.4???

Manic Maze, my only fully hand coded game made in DarkBASIC Professional.
It may not be the greatest game to play, nor have the biggest replay value, but I hope that this next bit of news will help change that (a little anyway)

I have been experimenting with connecting to a remote server in the laungage, and have made it possible to connect to a database.
This is great news, and I have been playing around with the feature so much that I now believe that I can do something with it.

Manic Maze v1.4 will include connection to said server, and will allow a "High-Scores" board to be produced.
We will be allowing users to upload their high-scores, fastest times, and of course the difficulty of the game.

This "High Score" board will be accessable in-game, and out of game (on this very site)

We are still very much configuring the very old "Trinium Faw" game engine I produced for Manic Maze, to allow this connection, and so far the testing stage is going great.
- To use the High-Scores, may require creating an account on the High Scores list, this is yet to be announced.

But that isn't all, we also plan in including, more levels, which will include new obsticles - such as pits, movable blocks (with aid of switches) and other such traps.

Plus for the first time since the original v0.1 release (back in 2004) the main character finally has a body!
